As an organization, People Seeing People, would like to pause from our normal weekly post of sharing stories in order to take time to thank those who shared their stories with us, our readers, and our family and friends who continue to support our work on this project. From our initial post in mid September, the stories shared with us traveled through heartache and hope. Each time we share a new post we are sharing the story of a friend we recently acquired. Our first interview took place in a local coffee shop, and our position in the homeless community relied solely on the connections we made from one interview to the next. Currently, many of our interviews occur outdoors in green spaces and colder temperatures where many members of the homeless community often greet us with a smile and by name. Our stories are all the better for these new chapters in our lives.
For our final pause on this week’s post we would like to remind others of opportunities to volunteer, donate, or receive a Thanksgiving meal this week through the La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner or Onalaska and Holmen Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
